‘immo.’ is a Birmingham based ceramics studio created by artist/maker Imogen Richards. Imogen’s visual language developed through her painting education at Edinburgh College of Art, and Masters Degree in Ceramics at Staffordshire University, Stoke on Trent.

Imogen aspires to create romantic, abstract and functional work, experimenting with intuitive paintings on and with clay. Her playful and energetic compositions, marks and palette are dictated by the form and texture of each thrown and altered piece.

Imogen draws inspiration from the theatricality and comfort of nature, and surrealist animation, resulting in other-worldly scenes which balance on the edge of reality.

All work displayed is thrown and altered terracotta clay decorated with slips, oxides and glazes.
